Here’s the facts:
Heart Failure doesn’t mean that the heart has stopped working. It means that it can’t pump properly so it doesn’t fully support the body’s need for blood and oxygen. With more than 900,000 hospitalization’s a year, people are being primary diagnosed with heart failure every 2 minutes.
Why is this important to COVID-19 a respiratory illness?
People of any age with serious underlying medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or kidney failure, are at higher risk with getting COVID-19. As we’ve seen most of the older generations’ cases have been fatal.
How does stress play a role?
Staying in control of your stress levels leaves you from experiencing, what one Harvard physiologist terms, a “fight-or-fight” response. In high stress scenarios, your body releases a flood of chemicals to prepare your body for action. When anxiety builds it may feel like you are on the verge of a heart attack.
As many studies have shown, stress also leads to several unhealthy habits such as eating high-fat, high-cholesterol foods contributing to artery damage leading to heart attacks and strokes.

3. Exercise– Every time your physically active, your body releases mood-boasting endorphins that melt away your stress and protect against heart disease by lowering your blood pressure and strengthening your heart muscle. –Harvard Health.edu
4. Unplug– Studies show that stress, anxiety, chronic fatigue, sleep deprivation and most overwhelming emotions have been linked to our direct habitats with our phone. If we learn to not check it while out with friends, turn silent mode and notifications off, limit our social media intake, to keep it out of sight even, can help keep our hearts and our minds healthy. If we just incorporate a few simple steps and change our perception, life as we know it, even in quarantine, can be healthier and more enjoyable.
While we are still experiencing COVID-19, CDC is requiring we wear face masks along with social distancing measures
